| What's in a logo? Why do people spend so much time planning and designing it? Is it really that important? YES!!! Your logo is your trademark, the "thing" that people recognize you by; it should capture everything a company wants to broadcast: goals, aspects, gist, products, services, ambitions - literally THE most important image which technically symbolizes your company and its drive to succeed. In other words –simple or complex, classy or innovative, old-fashioned or high-tech: even the sky cannot limit your logo, but your company's slogan will forever embrace it. There are a few important issues you must think of before designing a logo: * Which means of advertisement will you be using your logo in - internet/web, TV, commercials, etc? Know your needs in advance. * What kind of personality does your industry have? What kind of feeling do you want your logo to transmit? * What makes your business stand-out from the rest? This will be an important factor, as you'll want to focus on this specific point. * Will you want to enlarge/shrink it in the future? * What kind of impression do you want you logo to make? Think of colors, features, general ideas. * Who do you want your logo to invite? Define your audience and the focus of your business. * How do you plan on advertising yourself? Think about the best way to advertise your company towards the targeted audience. Once you've determined these factors, we come into the picture! We will assist you in designing the finest logo which will completely serve your needs. In order for us to do so, get to know the different logo types available today: Business logo Most companies are identified by their logo. Usually a logo for a business includes a symbol that goes along with their business name. There are different possible options: * a symbol that goes along with the business name * a symbol incorporated in the business name * fancy letters that are unique to the business * logos with or without a slogan * other ideas are welcome All of the above can come in many styles, such as 2D, 3D, 1 color, 2 colors and full colors. PrimeMac specializes in all kind of logos for any purpose. We deliver the highest quality in the design industry. There are other formats for logos that are sometimes used by companies which require high quality creativity and drawing skills. Our designers will deliver that quality. Among them are: Illustrated logo – 2D, 3D, vector, pixel, realistic, cartoonish or comic illustration. 2D = 2 dimensions: height and width. 3D = 3 dimensions: height, width and depth. Vector = Vector Images are incredibly small, scalable and editable images that allow designers unlimited freedom when it comes to logo design in terms of shrinking or enlarging the image. Pixel = Pixel images are created from tightly packed pixels. This image can safely be used on web sites and other forms of electronic reproduction, but because we do not have the luxury of Vector information and cannot utilize spot color techniques, the image must be printed as is – same size, no changes. Realistic = Realistic illustrations are those in which reality is represented as faithful as possible. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between an illustration of this type from a photograph. Cartoonish = This style is thought mainly to be aimed to a children target. However, more and more cartoons are being aimed to grownups and their subjects are related to this target audience, which include specific strategies such as sarcasm and the grotesque. Comic = Comics are the origins of cartoons. They use a series of frames simulating different settings in place and/or time. They generally have humorous or ironic endings. The characters’ faces expressions are very obvious and they are combined with text, which is often in the form of speech balloons or image captions. Iconic logo – To create this style, illustrators take the essential features of the morphology of the character or object that is to be illustrated. In the illustration only the features which make an object what it is are represented. |
